Antique Edwardian Elm & Beech Captain’s Chair c.1910
An Edwardian captain’s chair with a beautifully time-worn elm dished saddle seat combined with a beech arm structure and undercarriage.
The chair has the upright stance and practical geometry associated with early twentieth-century clerical and desk seating, offering comfort and a functional, honest presence. The worn front edge of the seat shows the natural erosion of long use, giving the piece great character and charm.
Presented in good antique condition with a sound frame, historic wear to the seat edge as shown and a consistent aged finish throughout. Clean, robust and ready to place in the home.
English, circa 1910.
