Vintage WWII U.S. Army Medical Department Field Chest by Stanley
A WWII U.S. Army Medical Department field chest of the type issued between 1943 and 1944, shipped to the UK in preparation for the invasion of Normandy.
Manufactured by Stanley, painted in military olive drab and bearing the emblem of the Medical Department, constructed with rugged steel strapping, heavy-duty handles and secure latch fittings, originally used to transport and store medical supplies during the Second World War.
Now a striking decorative piece with real historical presence, it makes a practical storage trunk or even a distinctive coffee table.
Retaining its original painted finish with expected surface wear and scuffing consistent with active use. Structurally all solid, clean and ready to place in the home. Handles stamped “Stanley”.
American, circa 1940s.
