Antique 19th Century French Copper Grape Hod c.1890
A late 19th century French copper grape hod, the high sweeping rear cowl set over a tapering body with hand-punched scalloped dot tooling and riveted cast brass drop-ring handles above on a flared circular base.
Of a particularly desirable smaller size, historically used to collect and transfer grapes on French vineyards during the harvest, this hotte à vendange translates effortlessly into a fireside coal bucket, kindling store or hallway stick stand.
Very good antique condition, displaying a rich patinated copper surface with natural verdigris highlights and wear consistent with age. Structurally sound, clean and ready to place in the home.
French, circa 1890.
