Antique Victorian Mahogany Writing Table c.1870
A refined mid-Victorian solid mahogany writing table of elegant Regency-influenced design. The thumb-moulded edge rectangular top sits above two frieze drawers with turned knobs, all raised on finely turned and reeded tapering legs in the manner of Gillows.
Retaining all the lightness and restraint of earlier 19th-century taste while offering the practicality of a later mid-Victorian piece. Its relatively compact scale makes it well suited for use as a writing or laptop desk, dressing table or side table in a sitting room, hallway or study.
Presented in very good antique condition, with a rich aged patina and minor surface wear consistent with age. Clean, sturdy, and ready to place in the home.
