Antique Victorian Mahogany Writing Table c.1870
A Victorian writing table of smaller proportions crafted in solid mahogany. The top is inset with a later gilt-tooled leather skiver, framed by a well-shaped moulded edge above two frieze drawers with turned knobs, all raised on well-turned legs set on brass and ceramic castors.
Compact in scale, offering a practical writing or laptop surface that works equally well in a living space or bedroom as it does in a study, providing a comfortable working area within a small footprint.
Presented in very good antique condition with some surface wear commensurate with age and use. The inset leather is a later replacement of good quality. One castor does not rotate. There is a small period repair to one lower leg, neatly executed and long since settled. Structurally sound, clean and ready to place in the home.
English, circa 1870.
