Antique Ashati Tribal Carved African Stool
A beautiful antique hand carved stool from the Ashanti people of Ghana, West Africa.
Rather than being a modern tourist reproduction, this is a genuine old antique piece. Purchased in the 1940’s when the piece already had some age, this one dates to around the turn of the century.
The stool is crafted from a single piece of wood, mounted on a single plank base. The carving is of fabulous quality, with the central column having been hollowed out through the tiny little decorative holes.
Excellent condition with only light age related wear.
