Antique George III Mahogany Tripod Pole Screen c.1800
A fine Georgian mahogany tripod pole screen, the shield-shaped frame housing a later hand-worked needlepoint panel in William Morris's Strawberry Thief pattern backed in golden slubbed silk and its original cast brass adjustment collar, all raised on a slender pole with lower vase-turned detail and tripod base.
Uniting late Georgian cabinetmaking with iconic Arts and Crafts decoration, this piece creates a vibrant, ready-to-place statement, bringing together two peak eras of British design.
Very good antique condition with light surface wear. Structurally sound, smooth in its height adjustment, and ready to place in the home.
English, circa 1800.
