Antique Georgian Mahogany Folding Dressing Table c.1790
A George III mahogany enclosed gentleman's dressing table, the twin book-matched flame mahogany folding top with double boxwood line inlay opening to a fully fitted interior with original ratcheted mirror, set over a false upper drawer above a single working drawer, both with original stamped brass oval handles, all raised on slender square-tapered legs with vertical line inlay and terminating in brass castors.
The piece serves as a compact side table when closed, unfolding to reveal a complete fitted vanity that forms a distinctive period display accent in a bedroom or dressing room.
Very good antique condition, with a deep historic patina and a subtle atmospheric bow to one top leaf consistent with two centuries of natural timber movement, and with one small internal cover absent. Structurally sound with smooth folding, clean and ready to place in the home.
