Antique Georgian Mahogany Open Armchair c.1750
A fine George II mahogany open armchair, the back with an attractively scrolled crest rail and shaped splat, framed by outscrolled arms. Upholstered in a muted rouge floral damask, the seat is raised on cabriole legs arranged with a single central front leg, midpoint side legs and a single rear support.
Well suited to use with a low 18th century writing table or small desk, and equally effective as an occasional chair in a drawing room or study.
Very good antique condition with minor surface wear and patina consistent with age. Structurally sound, clean and ready to place.
English, circa 1750.
