Antique Mid-Victorian English Oak Country Stool c.1860
A mid 19th century country stool constructed in solid English oak, the single-piece dished oval seat raised on four turned legs with incised ring details, united by a H-stretcher.
The all-oak construction and deeply impressed 'J.P.' property initials point directly to a country estate workshop origin, where dense local oak was selected for heavy-duty service rather than standard trade beech turnings.
Very good antique condition, exhibiting a warm patina and minor surface wear consistent with age and genuine domestic use. Structurally all solid with tight socketed joints, clean and ready to place.
English, circa 1860.
