Antique Victorian Coopered Oak & Brass Stick Stand c.1850
A mid 19th century oak stick stand of oval form, the hand-worked staves bound by brass bands secured by copper rivets, with brass drop handles mounted to the flanks.
Its shallow, flattened oval footprint allows it to sit neatly against a wall in a narrow hallway, vestibule or fireside alcove without encroaching on space, while bringing a distinct historical character to the setting.
Very good antique condition with some attractive aged surface wear and evidence of historic, long dormant woodworm. Structurally sound, clean and ready to place.
