Antique Victorian Reversible Tram Bench by Fisher & Son c.1890
A late Victorian platform bench by Fisher & Son of West Bromwich, with a pivoting backrest allowing the seating direction to be easily reversed. The gothic-arched cast iron ends are joined by reclaimed solid mahogany planks forming the seat and backrest.
Designed for hardy public use on tram or train platforms, it adapts well for use in the home as a dining bench in an entertaining space with its handy reversible seating function.
Very good antique condition with some surface wear consistent with age. Structurally sound, clean and ready to place in the home.
