Pair of Antique Mid 19th Century Bar Back Elm Country Side Chairs
A lovely pair of rustic and characterful elm country chairs with beautifully contoured seat panels and finely shaped open backs with a central decorative turned and shaped central horizontal supports. The chairs are raised on turned legs united by a H stretcher.
Generally in good condition, these chairs are old and of an age where they would have been well used and repaired at various points throughout their long lives, all adding to the character and charm of such pieces. This means that one of the chairs is rather misshapen with a seat slightly slanting forward and legs being fixed out of alignment, but that being said the chairs are structurally solid and stable.
