Antique William & Mary Walnut Armchair Circa 1690
A fabulous very early walnut throne armchair dating to around 1690.
Features a tall slat back flanked by wonderfully turned uprights and a carved scroll motif to the top rail all above an inset oak seat and beautifully worn scroll arms.
An incredibly old, museum quality chair in excellent condition, having had some restorations over the years but remaining largely original.
The chair is structurally all in good order, with the most stunning aged surface wear and patina to the walnut surfaces, including some old evidence of woodworm as to be expected.
English, circa 1690.
