Set of Six Mid 19th Century Mahogany Dining Chairs

A fabulous set of six mid 19th century mahogany dining chairs. These chairs are just stunning, substantial and incredibly comfortable.

The chairs feature a striking large thick scrolled backrest panel above an ornately carved decorative fretwork pierced adornment, leading to large scrolled embellishments where the uprights meet the seat panel. The finely upholstered seat panels are raised on lovely bulbous turned front legs.

The upholstery is all generally in remarkably good condition with only some minor aged marks. There is just one mark of note on one seat as pictured.

These chairs are generally in very good condition, structurally all incredibly solid and immensely heavy. There are a few minor aged repairs and losses on some of the chairs, notably a few of the tiny end pieces on either side of the scrolled backrest are missing and one or two minor losses to the decorative fretwork on a couple of chairs.

Whilst not perfect, these chairs are just magnificent. The minor issues as noted are far overshadowed by the incredible presence and overall quality of the workmanship and design.
